Cape Fisterra lighthouse
History
The Romans thought that this was the westernmost point of the known world. Sin embargo, el Cabo de la Roca se encuentra más al oeste. The lighthouse was built in 1853. The lighthouse tower, stone, is the octagonal base, and ends on a mantelpiece on which rests the balcony. Above is the dome with a polygonal lantern. The tower is 17 meters and its light, situated at 143 meters above sea level, reaching more than 30 nautical miles. He was the quintessential scene of shipwrecks, as of 1870 when a ship carrying 482 people sank, it was the saddest event of this coast. There are also close to the headquarters of a number of stones linked to religious legends: Holy Stones, stones stained with wine, the Chair of Peter, the tomb of Orcabella, etcetera. Currently known as where the land ends in latin: (finis) = final (terre) = ground.
