EMAS Environmental Declaration
Since June 2010, the Port Authority has had an environmental Management system certified in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 14001:2004 standard, which is fully operational in the provision of general services and port service management, in managing the execution of works in the port setting, and in managing the use of the port's public domain, with the aim also being to extend the monitoring of environmental risks associated with the commercial operations and activities to the port's entire service area, through the Environmental Code of Conduct. On the basis of this system, on 29 June 2012 the Port Authority of A Coruña, registered (with the registration no. ES-GA-000353) with the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), regulated by Regulation (EC) 1221/2009, the competent body for which is the Secretariat General for Quality and Environmental Assessment of the Regional Ministry for the Environment, Territory and Infrastructures.
The Port Authority of A Coruña's EMAS registration was renewed on 24 october 2024.
The port's Environmental Declaration, which provides our stakeholders with information on compliance with the legal requirements applicable in environmental matters and on its environmental behaviour, is updated annually through declarations validated by an environmental verifier accredited in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1221/2009 relating to the voluntary participation of organisers in an EU eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS).
